We are a group of women from different cultures and countries who are present in the DRC and Zambia, forming
three communities.

We, the Mercedarian Missionaries of Bérriz, from our reality and our concrete life in the heart of Africa, want to look at this continent as God looks at it, with tenderness and compassion.

Congo and Zambia

We wish to remain and accompany the lives of so many human beings who suffer all kinds of injustices in this African land, injustices that lead to a loss of values and a progressive dehumanization, and which are largely due to the greed for its natural riches.

We want to raise awareness among other people, making known the reality of growing impoverishment experienced by a large majority of African countries, its causes and its consequences.

In the midst of all this, we also want to encourage and promote the signs of life and hope that continually arise in our communities.

We work in education, healthcare, youth ministry, accompanying people on the margins, with special attention to girls and women, ministering to prisoners and marginalized people, and promoting a culture of care for our common home in collaboration with other organizations because we believe it is a prophetic sign for our world today. Together with our MMB lay members and as a family, we wish to seek paths that can lead to peace, paths of hope, humanism, and fraternity. We want to commit ourselves to working for the building of the Kingdom, striving to be signs of LIFE and HOPE.
